PROGRAM LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1.    Differentiate motor subtypes and gain understanding of the interventions available for children with neuromuscular disorders.

2.    Learn to use standardized early detection tools to identify infants at high risk for cerebral palsy and initiate timely referral to appropriate services. 

3.    Integrate current evidence-based interventions and emerging therapies into care plans for children with cerebral palsy, spina bifida, spinal muscular atrophy, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and rare diseases across the lifespan. 

4.    Incorporate family-centered, shared decision-making strategies into clinical practice to support parents and caregivers navigating complex care choices for children with developmental disabilities. 

5.    Describe the roles of interdisciplinary team members, including nurses, therapists, early interventionists, and physicians, in coordinating early intervention systems and managing care transitions for youth with complex conditions.
